Dear Students and Faculty,
I hope you are adjusting to the new ways of learning online—and finding time to relax a bit during this unusual spring break under difficult circumstances.
In preparation for the rest of the spring term and continuation of online instruction, I write to provide you with information and resources regarding access to academic resources and textbooks through Mercy College Library and the Mercy College Bookstore.
In light of closure of the College’s campuses, all Mercy College Library and Mercy College Bookstore resources and services have transitioned online.
1. Library Services
The Mercy College Library’s Virtual Library Services guide on the libraries’ website is available to support students and faculty with 24/7 access to ebooks, journal articles, electronic resources at Mercy and beyond, video tutorials, and more.
Librarians can provide research assistance via chat, text (914-930-5428), or email. Chat-based reference service is available Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am-9:00 pm, Friday, 9:00 am-5:00 pm, and Saturday-Sunday, 11:00 am-7:00 pm.
2. Bookstore Services
The College’s bookstore vendor, Follett, has made available an array of services and resources:
- Free shipping is available on Mercy Bookstore items with no minimum purchase; this includes course materials, supplies, apparel, technology, and more. The bookstore will fulfill online orders as long as campus stores are accessible by staff.
- Students may access ebooks from the Mercy Bookstore (Dobbs Ferry or Bronx campus websites) free of charge with their mercy.edu email address; each student can access up to seven ebooks for the remainder of the semester.
- The bookstore's partner, Lumen Learning, is offering free access to courseware to help supplement content and to offer additional resources to faculty.
- To assist with returns by mail, the bookstore is offering free shipping return labels and extending without penalty the non-return period.
