March 6 Message from President Hall

Mercy College seal

Dear Mercy College Community,

I understand that you may have concerns and questions about the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. With current news of the confirmed cases in New York State, and locally in New York City and Westchester County, I want to assure you that the health and safety of the Mercy College community is our highest priority.

As has been communicated, the College is staying abreast of guidelines and protocol from the New York State Department of Health, New York State Department of Education and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Additionally, we are communicating with our peer colleges and universities, as well as the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities in Albany, and the Westchester County Executive’s Office, to ensure we are all working together and sharing the latest information.

At this time, the College is conducting normal processes and practices. We have teams in place working on contingency plans to maintain continuity of classes and operations should any disruption occur. We are regularly reevaluating the situation.

I encourage you to be vigilant and to stay informed of the latest developments. Additionally, we encourage you to visit the Mercy website for safety recommendations and preventative measures on staying healthy, and Frequently Asked Questions including how Mercy is responding to this situation.

For questions or to provide information that might be useful to the College please email HealthAlert@mercy.edu

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
Tim Hall
President
