Maverick Magazine Spring 2022: Meet Some of Mercy’s Student Leaders

Mercy Student Leaders

The Office of Campus Life is excited to bring unique and fun experiences to our students both on- and off-campus. We are providing leadership and social opportunities to help students transition into college as well as learn new skills. From school traditions like Founders’ Festival and Stress Less Week to off-campus trips to Broadway shows and sporting events, there’s a robust calendar of events for everyone. We also love to keep our students engaged with opportunities to give back to their community. These initiatives include volunteer opportunities, fundraising with clubs and learning to be a little greener. Meet some of our outstanding student leaders…

Jamacia Bentick ’22
Major: Behavioral Science Bronx Campus


I am a Caribbean dance teacher and part of the Mercy Mayhem Dance Team at the Bronx Campus.

Eli Hunter ’23
Major: Video and Film Production Dobbs Ferry Campus


I am President/Captain of the Step team “Prestigious Divas.”

Maria (Nana) Garcia ’22
Major: Bio/Pre-med Dobbs Ferry Campus


I am a third-year Resident Assistant in Founders’ Hall and an administrative assistant for the Office of Campus Life. I am a member of the Association for Latin American Students (ALAS).

Liz Delgado ’25
Major: Communications MercyManhattan Campus

As a freshman, I have met so many interesting students and faculty. That’s one thing I love about Mercy—I’m always meeting new people, from commuters to international students. I am looking forward to joining more clubs and student organizations next year, or maybe even creating one myself!
