Mercy Public Accounting undergraduates Michelle de Vries and Andre Amrain were featured in an article in The Advocate highlighting them and others readers with the “Book Buddies” program during their internship at KMPG this summer.

Through the program — a part of KPMG’s Families for Literacy Initiative — Devries and Amrain sat with young readers in the community at the Ferguson Library in Stamford, Connecticut, offering encouragement and development through one-on-one reading time. Since 2013, KPMG has impacted as many as 7,000 readers with this community outreach initiative.
