Mercy University has earned recognition in Graphic Design USA's 2023 Inhouse Graphic Design Awards for the exceptional design showcased in its spring 2023 Maverick Magazine. Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) is a respected authority in graphic design, and this year marks the 60th anniversary of its annual competition.

The competition attracted a pool of over 6,000 entries representing private, public and nonprofit institutions from across the country. GDUSA's editor and publisher, Gordon Kaye, commended the winning projects. “This is graphic design for commerce and culture at its best executed by creative professionals who ably advance their clients’ objectives and build meaningful value for their organizations, products, services, causes and ideas," he said.

The spring 2023 issue of Maverick Magazine featured former president Timothy L. Hall’s retirement and his nine years of service as Mercy’s 12th president, visually represented by the cover and a two-page layout with photos.

This accolade underscores Mercy’s commitment to excellence in graphic design and its dedication to enhancing communication and engagement within its community. Maverick Magazine is designed by Mercy University Senior Graphic Designer Nancy DeVico.
