Mercy College President Tim Hall has once again been named to City & State’s Higher Education Power 100 List for his leadership in increasing rates of achievement for all Mercy students. City & State’s 2023 list includes New York’s most influential higher education leaders who have made the biggest difference in driving the growth and prosperity of their institutions and the communities in which their institutions serve.

As said by City & State, in reference to Hall, “The college’s leader is known for establishing the Mercy Success Toolkit, aimed at creating scalable strategies to increase student success, including that of students of color.”

Also noted is that under Hall’s presidency, Mercy College earned the prestigious “Seal of Excelencia” from Excelencia in Education, honoring it as a national exemplar in advancing prospects for success in college for its Hispanic students. Mercy is the first private college in the country, as well as the first Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) in New York State, to receive this certification.

In June 2023, Hall will be retiring from his position as 12th president of Mercy College after nine years. Hall’s tenure at Mercy College is cemented by his tireless efforts of service to the College through student success initiatives, academic excellence, fiscal stability and strengthening of impactful relationships within the community.
